With a lot of discoveries about coffee, today seems like our favorite cup of beverage is the jack of all trades, especially on the health benefits of coffee. It is no surprise that coffee has the ability to losing weight, it is the reason why it is often use in many weight loss programs, and one of the most popular weight loss program these days, with connection to coffee, is the intermittent fasting.

Intermittent fasting is one of the most popular weight loss programs nowadays, where it is a cycle of time between eating and fasting. Hence a lot of people are interested in this weight loss program, however, one of the most asked questions, is can you drink coffee while doing intermittent fasting?

Beverages with high sugar content and drinks that are high in dairy are not recommended during intermittent fasting, that is why your favorite latte or cappuccino is off limits for it can hinder the activity of the fast, because of this a lot of discussions had occurred whether drinking coffee is okay or not during the fast.

However, coffee should be plain black with no added sugar, creamer, or milk because this will break the fast. And of course, keep in mind to drink coffee in moderation, one to two cups of coffee will give you the help you needed for the intermittent fasting.

Drinking coffee while doing intermittent fasting can enhance the benefits of the fast, which can improve brain function, metabolism, and more.

One of the reasons why intermittent fasting is a popular weight loss program is because of its characteristic that promotes brain health. And when coffee is fuse to intermittent fasting, it enhances the goods of the fast. Intermittent fasting heightens brain – autophagy – is your body’s way of replacing damaged cells with healthy ones.

In intermittent fasting, the body produces ketones in the form of fat, which is the reaction of the body while doing the fast. The ketones serve as the bodies energy while on the cycle of fasting, and drinking coffee may enhance the production of ketones because caffeine is also said it promotes ketone production.

Now that we know that we can drink coffee while on intermittent fasting always keep in mind to drink in moderation without extra additives. Calories between 50 to 75 mean you are still on the right track for healthy wellness.
