Our Name The name “Guayakí” originates from the Aché Guayakí: indigenous communities living on ancestral lands in the South American Atlantic rainforest in Southern Paraguay. Guayakí Yerba Mate works in partnership with the Aché Guayakí communities to grow organic yerba mate, a plant with which the communities have a strong cultural and spiritual connection, for our various retail products.
Our Products Yerba mate comes from a holly tree native to the South American Atlantic rainforest. Yerba mate leaves are naturally caffeinated, with the strength of coffee, the health benefits of tea, and the euphoria of chocolate. Drinking yerba mate is a common social practice in Argentina, Southern Brazil, Paraguay, and Uruguay. We believe that our organic, shade-grown yerba mate is some of the world’s highest quality. We focus on using regenerative farming and business practices when planting, harvesting, and selling our yerba mate.
